On May 5, 2009 Lighting Designers from all over the world met in New York to celebrate an evening dedicated to darkness. The event was called Darknight.
Organized by PLDA US-coordinator and lighting designer Glenn Shrum, one element of the event was a series of Pecha Kucha presentations given by renowned lighting designers and other professional people from related – sometimes even in the remotest sense – disciplines. Approaching “darkness” from various different angles they explored what influence it has on human beings, architecture and our perception of the world.
